Thor Ice Chilling Solutions is a high-tech company that designs, develops, and produces slurry ice cooling solutions for the food processing industry, with special focus on poultry production and aquaculture. Among its customers is the largest poultry producer in Europe.
The company’s patented IceGun technology solves major challenges in poultry production and enables producers to increase production, improve their cooling, fulfil regulations, increase food safety, and prevent food waste. A key part of the company’s operations involves measurement technology, controls, and data processing.
Thor Ice is part of EIT Food Rising Food Stars and has received valuable support from Rannís’ Technology Development Fund, the Nordic Green Bank (Nefco) and the European Union.
The company has its operations in Reykjavik, Iceland, where a strong team of people work in various roles. Alfa Framtak recently invested in Thor Ice and the company will be accelerating its growth in the coming months.
